“It reminds me of home.”
Although Hispanic Heritage Month wrapped up in October, we believe celebrating culture and community is important every day. Our volunteer Rudy shared this heartfelt message about how Buddhist Relief takes the time to truly understand and support our neighbors. 💛
We bring Jetsuma’s gift of generosity to help those in need…Shepherd’s Table delivery
Recently, Rudy, Yekta, and Anne K made a delivery to Shepherd’s Table, which included 593 lbs of produce and dry goods such as cabbage, zucchini, cauliflower, bell peppers, sweet potatoes, oranges, BBQ seasoning, Montreal chicken seasoning, pancake syrup, salsa, and shredded cheddar…
Good that provides a sense of normalcy and self worth….
For this specific delivery, Chef Cheryl requested an assortment of mushrooms for their vegetarian meals, including baby bella, oyster, and lion's mane mushrooms. Rudy, one of our volunteers, was able to forage 2 lbs of fresh lion's mane mushrooms, and we completed the order with 3 more lbs from MOM’s Organic Market.
Supporting Our Western Upper Montgomery County Partners
WUMCO Help, the Poolesville Little Free Pantry, and Buddhist Relief work together in multiple ways to meet the needs of scores of households in the rural region of western upper Montgomery County.
Support Hurricane Relief for Western NC
We are working with local organizations on the ground to provide food and essential supplies to communities devastated by Hurricane Helene.
Upcounty Hub Pantry
KPC Buddhist Relief is proud to partner with the Upcounty Hub to provide supplies to stock their "Choice Pantry" program. The Choice Pantry offers families the opportunity to choose which items they would like to take home, providing a grocery shopping experience. This model allows for families to receive what they need, and prevents the waste associated with prepackaged distribution boxes.
Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month
It's an honor for KPC Buddhist Relief to partner with The Upcounty Hub, whose focus is on eliminating food insecurity and providing assistance to access social services.
