Reinforcing the dignity & respect of every person…
On a recent Monday afternoon, Rudy, Yekta, and Anne K drove to Shepherd’s Table to deliver 825 lbs of produce and dry goods. The dry goods included Montreal Chicken & Steak Seasoning, cheese, tortillas, and BBQ seasoning, while the produce included sweet potatoes, onions, asparagus, broccoli, zucchini, apples, and fresh pears.
A big shoutout to Kingsbury Orchard in Poolesville, MD! As Anne was picking up the fruit, with her trunk full of food for our delivery, Sue Ketron at the Orchard jokingly asked if she had a big family. Anne explained that she’s with KPC Buddhist Relief and that we’re donating everything to Shepherd’s Table. Sue generously offered us a 1/2 bushel of Asian pears and a 1/2 bushel of apples.
As Rudy, Mohamed and Rob unloaded the van, they talked about the change of season and how Shepherd’s Table will start asking for more fruit than dry goods. Chef Christina has shared that without KPC Buddhist Relief they are unable to provide fresh meals for the colder months.
Our founder Jetsunma has created a model for providing the most nutritious and flavorful ingredients by asking our partners what their clientele wants, thus reinforcing the respect and dignity every person deserves through wonderful meals.
Be a part of this generosity and join KPC Buddhist Relief in alleviating food insecurity.
