Good that provides a sense of normalcy and self worth….

On October 11th, we delivered 359 lbs of ingredients to Miriam’s Kitchen! Our produce included cauliflower, broccoli, red onions, scallions, parsley, jalapeño peppers, avocados, apples, oranges, limes, and lemons. Dry goods included maseca flour, jasmine rice, andouille sausage, panko breadcrumbs, and gochujang hot chili paste.

For this specific delivery, Chef Cheryl requested an assortment of mushrooms for their vegetarian meals, including baby bella, oyster, and lion's mane mushrooms. Rudy, one of our volunteers, was able to forage 2 lbs of fresh lion's mane mushrooms, and we completed the order with 3 more lbs from MOM’s Organic Market.

Chef Brian plans to use the oyster and lion's mane mushrooms for their vegetarian sandwiches as they work to accommodate a variety of dietary needs for their guests.

The previous week, Rudy foraged another 6 lbs of beautiful fresh lion's mane mushrooms and delivered them to Miriam’s Kitchen. Chef Brian was thrilled to receive more mushrooms and took the time to express his gratitude. He’s even looking forward to going mushroom foraging with Rudy one day!
