It is a joy and an honor to help

Here is a glimpse into a recent Shepherd’s Table delivery - your donations make these delicious deliveries possible! We donated 786 pounds of fresh produce, meat and dry goods. 524 pounds of fresh produce included red onions, tomatoes, broccoli, asparagus, zucchini and apples. 105 pounds of assorted beef was included: ribeye, ground beef as well as pork cutlets, 4 dozen chicken eggs, ½ dozen turkey eggs and ½ dozen duck eggs!

In keeping with the chefs’ new Taco Tuesday tradition, we provided fresh avocados, taco shells, tortilla chips, sour cream and salsa for their meal guests. As a special treat we also provided mandarin oranges, tortilla chips, guajillo and California chili peppers, limes, and 40 pounds of jicama to Chef Paola so she can teach their student chefs to make nachos, pico de gallo and ‘a bright orange-jicama salad.’

Chef Christina shared that the meal guest who had suggested Taco Tuesdays was so thankful and grateful that they had taken his suggestion. He felt heard and valued and cared for.

KPC Buddhist Relief provides what the chefs need on a weekly basis to provide three square meals everyday for people in need.

It is a joy and an honor to help our partners in this way.
