Helping others feel safe, worthy and part of a healing & loving community...
On a recent visit to Miriam's Kitchen, Buddhist Relief delivered a fun selection of fresh produce such as potatoes, sweet potatoes, cabbage, yellow onions, tomatoes, romaine lettuce, cauliflower, Thai green chili peppers, jicama, avocado, parsley, and cilantro, as well as 53 lbs of dry goods such as jasmine rice, rice flour, ginger garlic paste, garlic paste, Kashmiri red chili powder and fresh curry leaves.
Chef Cheryl said she'll be using these wonderful ingredients to cook Thai, Balinese and Indian Dishes, like Chicken 65 (recommended to her by a volunteer). She loves finding recipes from different nationalities each month to celebrate the diversity of Miriam’s Kitchen's guests.
The shopping list Chef Cheryl gives us twice a month reflects her passion for creating these dishes. It’s an honor for KPC Buddhist Relief to be able to find the diverse ingredients she needs. We learn as much about these diverse cultures by procuring the items as Chef Cheryl does trying new recipes.
We are creating and growing a wonderful partnership with Miriam’s Kitchen, helping those facing food insecurity feel safe, worthy and part of a healing and loving community.
We invite you to join us… come be a part of Buddhist Relief.
