Colorful rainbow 🌈
Eating fresh fruits and vegetables lowers the risk of diet-related illnesses such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and obesity.
Every week, KPC Buddhist Relief offers these healthy food options to many families in need through our partnership with the Upcounty Hub.
In this video, Yosselyn Rodriguez, Director of Programs at the Hub, orients two new volunteers to the weekly deliveries: "We're excited because Noreen is coming here today from KPC and they're donating items that are super valuable for our families. They don't usually get fresh produce, they don't usually get fresh food, a lot of staples is what they get. So when I see these bins with green beans, tomatoes, and all of this colorful rainbow of healthy vegetables, I get very excited! So thank you to KPC."
After unloading from the KPC Buddhist Relief van, Hub staff and volunteers waste no time, immediately placing a variety of produce into boxes. They are refrigerated overnight, and the following morning (in less than 20 hours), the boxes are distributed to 150 families.
We couldn't do this without you. A big thank you for continuing to support KPC Buddhist Relief and making this possible!
