Supporting Our Local Partners

KPC Buddhist Relief makes bi-weekly deliveries to our Poolesville partners. On this visit, our first stop was the Poolesville Little Free Pantry to deliver a total of 720 lbs of produce, milk, cheese, and non-perishables.

Next up: WUMCO Help. KPC Buddhist Relief partnered with WUMCO Help and Hosana Community Church to provide summer lunches for local students who are eligible for the Free And Reduced Meals through Montgomery County Public Schools, but are unable to access the nearest sites due to unreasonable distances.

We were thrilled to make our first delivery of 250 lbs of fruit and 50 packages of sliced cheese, which will help supply 20 - 25 families for two weeks of lunches. Additionally, we provided 40 lbs. of oranges, 40 lbs of apples, 24 packages of cheese, and 19 dozen eggs for WUMCO’s regular clients, for a total of 370 lbs.

We then returned to the Poolesville Little Free Pantry (PLFP) and got to work shelving the non-perishables and parceling out the onions, carrots, apples, and oranges into smaller bags for easier distribution. The next day, the PLFP posted on their Facebook page, “Restocked. We are grateful to be able to do so after a 720 pound delivery from KPC Buddhist Relief yesterday! Thank you!”

People need food all year round. With your help, we can keep our nonprofit partners' shelves stocked. Please consider making a donation and becoming a Friend of KPC Buddhist Relief TODAY.
