Shepherd's Table Delivery: Expanding Our Reach
Here is a glimpse into a recent Shepherd’s Table delivery... We loaded our wonderful refrigerated van with 750 pounds of fresh produce including: 100 lbs of potatoes, carrots, cabbage; 50 lbs zucchini, cauliflower, corn, onion, and green beans. Our dry goods totaling 292 lbs included Jasmine & parboiled rice, soft flour tortillas, oatmeal, penne pasta, grits, coffee, sugar, ketchup, and Pam cooking spray.
It was particularly joyful because we received donations from new friends and partners. We are most grateful to Mr Ali Mohadjer, owner of East Oaks Farm in Poolesville for donating 82 lbs of fresh cucumbers; to our friends at the Upcounty Hub for donating 2 cases of coconut milk; and to David Therriault and Sandy Wright of Locals Farm Market for their donation of 58 lbs home grown tomatoes and 7 lbs chard.
It’s exciting to see the expansion of KPC Buddhist Relief’s efforts by having our neighbors join us. They are so happy to be able to donate their produce to KPC Buddhist Relief because they know it is flavorful, grown with love and will be happily used to help those in need. And a huge thank you to our financial donors who make our efforts possible.
