Sharing is Caring

During our weekly donation to The Upcounty Hub, we noticed that The Hub was piled high with cases and cases of perishable produce -- way, way more than they can distribute in a timely manner. The produce overflow was a one-time donation from a food company. Buddhist Relief was able to take the surplus off of their hands and redistribute it to Shepherd's Table where all of it will be happily used.

Here is what Grace Rivera-Oven, CEO and Founder of The Upcounty Hub has to say about working together as partners to feed our neighbors:

"We are so happy to collaborate with our partners, with KPC. One of the things that we don't want is for anything to go to waste. Our neighbors need the food. When we have an overflow of food, we are definitely going to go to our partners. KPC has been a wonderful partner - an unwavering partner - so absolutely helping to feed other families and to be able to have a much greater reach than we do... it's actually a dream come true for us. Because part of it is that food should not go to waste. Food should be consumed by folks who truly need it. And that's what we are going to do!"
