Buddhist Relief supports the Upcounty Hub

KPC Buddhist Relief has become an essential partner for the Upcounty Hub, providing a reliable supply of fresh, healthy produce as well as providing thousands of pounds of food to fill their Choice Pantry Shelves.

On Thursday afternoon April 25th, the KPC Buddhist Relief van arrived at The Upcounty Hub, ready to donate an abundance of food which Hub staff will distribute to many local families in need. They were thrilled to receive eggs from our chickens for the first time, not to mention the meat!

As we were unloading, a social worker from the local school system also arrived at the Hub. She watched in awe as over 1,500 lbs of food emerged from the Buddhist Relief van and into the Hub's big blue bins - fresh produce, rice, eggs, meat, jams, peanut butter and pistachios!

Watch the video below to see what she had to say!

KPC Buddhist Relief coordinates with our partners, purchasing and donating items they request. By doing so, we not only provide items not available through other food relief resources, but we ensure that what we do donate will be welcome and used, reducing waste.

We support multiple partners throughout Montgomery County Maryland, coordinating with each to supply items that meet the specific needs of the various populations they serve. We support partners in every part of the county, including the under-resourced agricultural reserve.

Your donations big and small do impact lives. Please join us by becoming a Friend of KPC Buddhist Relief.
