Addressing the Challenge of Rising Food Costs
KPC Buddhist Relief delivered 573 lbs of food to our partner, First Baptist Church of Silver Spring, including apples, string cheese, dried and canned beans, condiments, jams, soups, canned meat and fish, mashed potatoes, and much more.
The rising cost of food makes it so challenging for First Baptist Church to meet the needs of the 50 families they provide groceries for on Saturday mornings. Not only has the cost of maintaining their food closet gone up, but rising food prices are also impacting the personal budgets of church members, making it harder for them to afford supporting the pantry at the same level.
They have a high demand for canned soup, likely because it is quick and easy meal for a busy parent to prepare and put on the table. As always, First Baptist Church is grateful for all that KPC Buddhist Relief provides.
