Nothing goes to waste... Shepherd's Table delivery

On November 11th, we offered Shepherd’s Table 585 pounds of produce and dry goods, including potatoes, sweet potatoes, broccoli, zucchini, cauliflower, cabbage, onions, mushrooms, bell peppers, tomatoes, and carrots. Dry goods included coffee, creamer, salsa, BBQ sauce, salad dressing, sour cream, grits, hot dog buns, oatmeal, jasmine rice, ketchup, and mayo.

Shepherd’s Table uses the over 2,000 pounds of produce we provide monthly to help feed nearly 500 people daily.

In addition to providing food for their guests, our deliveries also support the training of Shepherd’s Table’s chefs-in-training. These individuals are learning vital culinary skills to help them find viable employment. Chef Gary mentioned that the sweet potatoes we provide are used to teach knife skills and are then incorporated into meals served to their guests. Literally nothing goes to waste.

Jetsunma’s constant teachings on generosity continue to inspire our shared vision and mutual gratitude with Shepherd’s Table. Chef Christina regularly expresses her thanks for the fresh produce KPC Buddhist Relief consistently provides, which allows them to rely less on canned and boxed vegetables and fruit.

And ever-present, Mohammed, while helping Rudy unload the van, smiled and said, “We always look forward to Monday. We know you’ll bring us beautiful produce and the food our guests need.”

Help us continue to grow our partnerships and nurture those in need. Please consider becoming a friend of KPC Buddhist Relief.
